Our Pipe Replacement Program is upgrading more than 1,000 miles of aging cast- and ductile-iron mains by 2035. These critical infrastructure improvements are essential to maintaining system safety and reliability across our communities.
Beyond safety, the program supports local jobs, drives economic development, and advances our environmental goals. A modernized natural gas system will reduce emissions, support renewable natural gas delivery, and prepare Chicago to adopt emerging clean energy solutions like hydrogen and other decarbonization technologies.
