Peoples Gas has committed $6 million in additional assistance for those who are having trouble paying their natural gas bills due to the pandemic. If you need financial assistance and meet the income guidelines, we have a number of programs available, including a Bill Payment Assistance Program, extended deferred payment arrangements and additional financial assistance grants.

Modernizing our natural gas system

This spring, our System Modernization Program (SMP) will take place in 15 neighborhoods with 60 smaller projects scattered throughout the city.

This year, SMP projects will take place in 15 neighborhoods, with 60 smaller projects scattered throughout the city. New neighborhoods receiving work in 2021 include Budlong Woods, Old Irving Park, Jeffery Manor and Garfield Ridge. Projects are set to wrap up in Princeton Park and Kenwood.
