Matching Gifts
The Matching Gifts Program is designed to encourage our employees to actively support nonprofit organizations within our communities.
Peoples Gas will match $1 for each $1 of eligible employee contributions. The minimum contribution to any one organization that will be matched is $50. The maximum match per employee is $2,500; the maximum match for retiree is $2000 per fiscal year ending December 31.
Donations to organizations in the categories below may be eligible for matching funds. Organizations must operate in areas where Peoples Gas employees work or live* and must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Matching Gifts Program coordinator has a list of benefiting organizations in the following areas:
- Arts and culture
- Community and neighborhood development
- Human services and health
- Environment
- Schools (grades K-12)
- Colleges and universities
An employee or retiree needs to submit a Matching Gifts form to the nonprofit organization by December 1 of each year.
