EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a rule creating a mandatory national system for reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Beginning January 1, 2010, the EPA requires regulated natural gas utilities and some of their largest customers to begin monitoring GHG emissions. For more information on the new reporting requirements, visit the EPA web page dedicated to this new rule. The EPA website includes an online tool to help you determine whether the new rule applies to your company, as well as resources to help your company understand the rule.
Information about the Natural Gas delivered by Peoples Gas
If the new GHG reporting requirement applies to your company, you may need information about the natural gas purchased from Peoples Gas. If you only need the amount of natural gas consumed each month, you can find that information on your Peoples Gas bill or in the My Account section of our website. Information about the heating value of your natural gas is provided below as a service to our customers*:
