Changes to Your Bill - Residential Customers
The Illinois Commerce Commission recently approved new natural gas rates for customers of Peoples Gas. The new rates took effect on January 28, 2010 and will result in an average increase of about $4 per month on the typical residential heating customer's bill.

Reading Your February Bill
Your February bill will be prorated, which means part of it will be calculated using old rates and part using new rates. Your March bill will be calculated using the new rates entirely.
Choices For You Customers
A new monthly per-therm Storage Credit ($0.05414) based on a customer's Maximum Daily Quantity will apply.
Infrastrucutre Cost Recovery
Beginning April 2011, your bill includes the Infrastructure Cost Recovery charge (ICR). The ICR will fund upgrades to the Peoples Gas delivery infrastructure, specifically the replacement of cast and ductile iron mains. The ICR will become effective April 1, 2011 and be billed over a nine-month period each year thereafter, from April through December. We will keep you informed as more details emerge.
