Customers who purchase their gas supply service from Peoples Gas pay a Municipal Utility Tax equal to 8.24% on all dollars collected for utility service. Because Choices for YouSM customers only pay the Municipal Utility Tax on the dollars collected for the delivery service, a Chicago Gas Use Tax is also charged to these customers. The Chicago Gas Use Tax equals $0.052 per therm delivered to the customer.
